June pics

Summer is finally here for us (because we don't live in San Francisco where it rains all summer - ha ha) and we've been enjoying being outside more. Terran and I started lots of seedlings inside for our garden this spring and were sad to see half of them killed in a hail storm, but we had more. He loves to help out in the yard. And I have to say all the flowers in our front yard are looking very nice. We're going out to the farm every Wednesday afternoon now to pick up our CSA share, which both boys love. After 3 weeks of doing it, Zane even has our routine down and knows that we head over to visit the chickens and ducks after picking up the produce. As soon as I let him out of the stroller today he took off for the chickens. He can't understand why they don't want to eat the sticks that he tries to feed them though. We didn't have carrot tops today for them. There is a big that just had 4 babies too, so they're lots of fun to see. One picture here is of the boys in front of the pigs, but all the babies were napping and I only caught mama's big rump. The popsicle pictures are the documentation of Zane's first popsicle, which I thought I was sharing with him until he took it away from me and started taking big bites. Terran took the close up photo of Zane with the popsicle in my lap. He's becoming a pretty good photographer.

This is a fun stage with both boys since Zane is picking up new words almost daily now and making some of his own which are so cute. He says "ditty" for his favorite blanket and "bobby" for strawberry. Aside from being a little monkey just like his brother and scaling the furniture, Zane is working on his fine motor skills now. He's obsessed with buttons ("bu") and big snaps and has learned how to put the duplo legos together in the last few days, so he is making his own little towers now. Terran is now trying to figure out how words are spelled, so that's fun to see him growing in that way and being interested in something other than being physical. We're doing swim lessons right now and Terran is once again starting to swim a little on his own. Maybe it will actually stick this time if we swim often enough. And Zane just started jumping in to me from the edge of the pool today. It was actually more like a slow motion lean, but he thought that was great.
