Countertop Fix Part I

Michael is working on fixing our concrete counter in the kitchen now. He moved the small part of the cabinet over so the opening for the stove is not too wide anymore (now the stove properly overlaps the counter) and he tried out the grinder on that small part of the counter to see how it would look. It looks great - very smooth, shiny and all the cut rocks on the surface look pretty. Almost like granite, but a fraction of the price and no radon. I don't think these pictures do it justice though. It still needs to have the sealant put on it too. Now he'll have to grind down the rest of the counters in place. He's trying to finish it all soon because after much deliberation, we finally decided on the new flooring that will go in the entire upstairs, sans the bathroom, as well as the living room and the living room addition that will hopefully be built soon. We're getting a sustainably grown hickory, which I think will be beautiful.
