Hawaii Day 3 - Farmers Market, Mango Festival & Beach

We started out the day with my favorite breakfast I remember eating when we were on Kauai 10 years ago. Yogurt and granola in a papaya. Very good. The boys weren't sure about the papaya at first, but came around to it. We found some very good gluten free mac nut granola. We went to a small farmers market in Keauhou where we got bananas (of course) and a bunch of other fruit as well as some tasty gluten free cookies that didn't last long. Then we went to a mango festival outside a hotel in Keauhou and got to try a fresh green coconut. Have to say we weren't really crazy about the coconut water or eating the slimy flesh after, but it was a fun thing to try. And the boys got to help use a sugar cane press and then had some of the fresh juice from it. And of course we bought mangoes. Mom and I shared a mango kombucha drink, which was yummy. In the afternoon we went to Kahalu'u Beach Park for a bit. It was getting a little windy and sprinkling at times. Michael and I still enjoyed snorkeling and Terran did a bit. It was a little hard to get out past a lava rock shelf, so Mom and Zane didn't get out. There were several smaller turtles playing in the surf right at the boat ramp and we had a fun time watching them. Guess we didn't take any pictures though! Crazy.

The fresh fig on the side here was not as good. Perhaps it was not ripe. We weren't really sure.
